Peapod Digital Labs Native App
After the launch of eCommerce capabilities creating a full omnichannel experience, Peapod Digital Labs wanted to turn their attention to moving from a hybrid app to a fully native app, for both iOS and AOS. I was able to either lead or assist in all aspects of user experience design such as base research, wireframes, concept testing, design refinement, design system critique, pattern building, and development handoff.
The UX Research team led efforts to collect both qualitative and quantitative data of the full omnichannel journey and where the app usage appears in that journey. From there, two customers types were discovered. The Speeder and The Planner. With that as a base, we performed moderated user testing of the former hybrid app to isolate pain points in our app users’ journeys and bring solutions forward in the native app release.

Core Concept & Information Architecture Testing
The mobile team in partnership with the UX Research team worked together to cull several native architecture concepts down to two core approaches for testing before moving into the design phase.

Design Phase
With the core concept decided, the team got to work on designing out both the UI and UX of the new app, which included building and adding to the native design system as we went along. Below are the highlights of my direct contributions to the project.

Registration Flows

Checkout
One of the biggest improvements from the former app is breaking out the checkout experience into more focused steps rather than one long page. Below you will see the retired one-page checkout and the revamped experience for the native app. Also included, moderated testing readout which was done to ensure this big of a change was vetted with our customers.
